After enforcing the FY2022 revised version of the Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures, Japan’s goal to virtually eliminate greenhouse gases by 2050 to combat global warming got into full swing. Japan has promised to continue decarbonization policies in the long term. At the same time, Japan is also demanding the disclosure of renewable energy deployment goals from municipalities, requesting companies to share their greenhouse gas emission amount, and prompting initiatives that engage citizens, municipalities, and companies to realize a carbon-free society.
Against this background, we have established the technical forum on the Doshisha Education and Research Platform for Carbon Recycling as an information exchange system to collaborate with national research institutes, municipalities, and companies and tackle the increasingly complex environmental and energy issues.
Moreover, this forum not only allows exchanging information but also sharing information regarding the intellectual property originating from this platform.
